Lá Bealtaine 26
Description
The ancient Celtic festival of Bealtaine marks the end of cold winter weather and the start of summer in the northern hemisphere. The celebrations involved music, dance, storytelling, food and drink as well as fire. Fires draw a community together, symbolising purification and renewal, while providing a focal point for a convivial gathering.
Our Sydney celebration of Bealtaine will feature music from Black and White Pudding, Redfern Shanty Club, Queens of Medbh, Na Peacaigh and others. The wonderful Black Joak Morris Dancers will perform one dance and teach us one dance - with bells on! Tasty snacks are provided by Shay the Butcher and Paddy the Baker, and the Gaelic Club's full bar facilities will be available.
