La Niña Que No es Nada exhibition examines how art and concepts are absorbed, internalized, and embodied rather than directly presenting these issues.

This is the last installment of my ongoing Curatorial Activism thesis based off the book Curatorial Activism: Towards an Ethics of Curating by Maura Reilly.

The book is a manifesto for change in the art and visual culture. Its goal is to challenge the neutrality role that Curator's and Art Institution's take and not be complicit in the roles of racism, classism, sexism and homophobia. Reilly calls out that museums should diversify their boards and stop their discriminatory practices that excludes marginalized voices.

La Niña Que No es Nada is a product of what happens when we witness destruction, revealing how cultural consumption can mirror and uphold systems of opression, violence, and erasure. Instead of offering answers, the exhibition invites reflection between action and words and what is displayed through our relationships with images, objects and their absence.
