La Pinta Flamenca
Event description
A Tablao (colloquial term for the Spanish “tablado”, or floorboard) is a place where flamenco shows are performed. In addition, the word tablao is a term also used to describe the platform floor in which a flamenco show is performed. Tablao venues were developed during the 1960s throughout Spain replacing the cafés cantantes, or cabarets of the 19th and early 20th century. More intimate than theatrical flamenco productions, tablao shows are considered the places where the most authentic flamenco performances can be experienced. Housed at the Arizona Latio Arts and Cultural Center, join us at Tablao La Pinta Flamenca, as Casa Flamenca’s intimate performance recreates the authentic atmosphere of a Spanish Tablao.
