La Sobremesa

As part of 16-Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, Project Respect has partnered with Latin Stories to present - La Sobremesa! 

The project "La Sobremesa" is a community awareness education program that helps everyone understand what #genderequality is, challenges #genderstereotypes and roles, and talks about #consent and healthy relationships in a fun, safe way. 

The aim of this project is to bring the community together in “la Sobremesa” -this term refers to the Spanish and Latin American tradition of having relaxing informal conversations at the table after a meal. To help the conversations flow easily, we will play #boardgames - created with purpose - to explore topics about gender equality in a safe, relaxed and fun environment.

Come and play board-games and learn about gender equality and healthy relationships / Ven a jugar juegos de mesa y aprendamos de equidad de genero!

The games are led in Spanish or English by experienced facilitators who provide a safe, relaxed and fun environment where learnings blossom.

This event welcomes all genders and nationalities. Spanish speakers and non-spanish speakers are welcome. While the games are suitable for ages 12+, we ask that our event attendees be 18 years or over. 

Snacks and drinks are provided.

Time: 1:30pm - 4:00pm

Tickets are free but places are limited! Please RSVP through this Humanitix invitation, and provide details of any dietary requirements you may have. 

Please note: Whilst we will do our best to cater for all dietary requirements, food will be sourced from external caterers and we cannot guarantee that food preparation will be completely free of cross contamination in the case of severe food allergies.
