This open-access Fundamentals lecture series is presented as part of the Platform LAB program. In tandem with the ‘Debrief’ seminars, Fundamentals is presented by Erin Milne of Bureau of Works. These four monthly Zoom lectures are designed to build early to mid-career artists' professional capacity in arts project management.

Writing grants and budgets is crucial to receiving funding for your projects. This session covers how to write a clear and concise grant application, what to include, and how to accurately cost fees for your collaborators.

Session #3: Arts Project Management

What should you consider when developing and delivering your own projects? Learn how to work with key stakeholders including council, venues, and galleries. We'll also cover the essentials like permits, insurances, risk assessments and contracts.

Session #4: Marketing Your Work

Thursday 18 November, 1PM - 3PM via Zoom

How can you best promote your work and yourself as an artist? This lecture covers documenting your work and approaching festivals, agencies and potential collaborators.

About The Facilitator

Erin Milne is an independent producer whose practice is deeply driven by a passion for contemporary and experimental art that speaks to the here and now. Erin is a sought-after collaborator with some of Australia’s most distinctive and ambitious artists. She is a producing and curatorial associate of Experimenta Media Arts and Punctum Live Arts and sessional lecturer at Deakin University. Erin was recently awarded an Australia Council ISPA Fellowship for 2020-2022 and is an alumnus of the Australia Council’s Arts Leaders Program.
