LABOUR DAY GIG- feat. CICADA, SURE BOY and HIGH AMBITION
Event description
Labour day 2024 is set to be incredible.
During the day (from 10am) Trades Hall, 124 Vivian Street will be open to the public, with Unions Wellington putting on a range of events there will be a free BBQ and a range of free refreshing beverages, facepainting, banner and picket making, a documentary screening room, stalls from a range of unions and MORE.
In the evening from 7pm at Rogue and Vagabond, Unions Wellington and E tū musicians Union have teamed up to bring you a line-up of Wellington’s hottest fully unionised acts. The music will be amazing, there will be some union chanting, come along.
CICADA
Cicada play ragged, desperate folk-rock about transness, socialism and emotional crises.

SURE BOY
Sure Boy, described as “notoriously cool”, are a charismatic indie-rock concoction from Aotearoa New Zealand. The groups punch riffs, powerhouse lead vocals and thoughtful songwriting create an energetic and unforgettable live show. After selling out shows across the country on their latest tour and supporting artists such as The Beths, Shonen Knife and Teenage Dads, the band is on the rise. Sure Boy is Beth Stewart, Simone McCarthy and Lily Fulton.
