Lady Parts
Description
At its core, Lady Parts is a film with a mission: to shatter the stigma around discussions of women’s bodies. By addressing the cultural shame and silence surrounding these conversations, the film empowers audiences to embrace openness and honesty about their health and well-being.
An expert panel on sexual health and Q&A will follow the film.
Lady Parts Film Synopsis
On the verge of finally breaking into her dream career in Los Angeles, Paige (in a hilariously deadpan performance by Valentina Tammaro) is forced to put everything on hold, move back in with her parents, and undergo a vulvar vestibulectomy, in order to alleviate years of vaginal pain. Paige’s excruciating and hilarious road to recovery makes the health and wellbeing of her lady parts a family affair, as her loving but over-enthusiastic parents learn that saying “vagina” loud and proud is the first step to advocating for women’s health. Based on writer/executive producer Bonnie Gross’s true story, Gross and director Nancy Boyd both pull from their own, horrifically cringe-worthy experiences with vaginal pain and the difficulties women face receiving treatment. Lady Parts is heartfelt, laugh-out-loud funny, and brutally honest, offering audiences a glimpse into an experience many women face, but few talk about, either on or offscreen.

Bonnie Gross
Bonnie Gross is an award-winning comedy writer, producer, and post-production pro who’s never met a taboo topic she couldn’t turn into a smart, comical, and relatable story. She has a passion for telling authentic stories that focus on the realities of living with chronic vulvovaginal and pelvic pain, which she believes deserve far more screen time.
Originally from Philadelphia and now based in New York City, Bonnie earned her B.A. in Media Production from the University of Alabama and completed the UCLA Professional Program in TV Comedy Writing in 2018. Her most recent film Lady Parts is an autobiographical comedy inspired by her own experience navigating the vulvovaginal health care world, which earned the Special Jury Award for Screenwriting at the Florida Film Festival and the Jury Award for Best Comedy Feature at the Austin Film Festival.
Bonnie has worked for several years in post-production at Encore Hollywood and Light Iron, working on an array of television shows and films. She now co-owns Brainwomb, a boutique finishing house in NYC where she partners with filmmakers to shape their stories at every stage of the post-production process
She has also written, produced, and edited comedic content for the media brand It’s a Southern Thing, and regularly creates her own offbeat comedy videos for social media. In addition to her creative work, Bonnie serves as the social media manager and a campaign team volunteer for Tight Lipped, a grassroots advocacy organization by and for people with chronic vulvovaginal and pelvic pain.
At the heart of Bonnie’s work is a simple goal: to make people feel seen, understood, and maybe laugh at a speculum joke along the way.
