LATIN AMERICAN FILM FESTIVAL 2025

The Embassy of Brazil in Canberra proudly invites everyone to the 20th edition of the Latin American Film Festival (LAFF).

Brazil is screening the movie “Malu” (Winner - Best Film and Best Actress, Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival - 2024), written and directed by Pedro Freire.

Synopsis:

Malu — a mercurial, unemployed actress living with her conservative mother in a precarious house in a Rio de Janeiro slum — tries to deal with her strained relationship with her own adult daughter while surviving on memories of her glorious artistic past.

A Embaixada do Brasil em Camberra convida a todos para a 20ª edição do Latin American Film Festival (LAFF).

O Brasil irá exibir o filme “Malu” (Ganhador – Melhor Filme e Melhor Atriz, Festival do Rio - 2024), escrito e dirigido por Pedro Freire.

Sinopse:

Malu, uma mulher de meia idade com um passado glorioso, se vê presa em um caos existencial. A complexa relação com sua mãe conservadora e com sua filha adulta torna a crise ainda mais aguda, em meio a momentos de carinho e alegria entre as três. Um retrato de uma mulher em busca da melhor versão de si mesma.
