    Event description

Please join us for our upcoming Network of Practice meeting where we will delve into the topic of Housing in the Youth Sector.

I'm excited to announce that Nicole Grgas and Helen Smith from Hunter Tenants Advice and Advocacy Service will be leading us in a practical workshop around Youth Tenancy & Rentals. Their aim is to equip workers with valuable information on renting and provide essential guidance when advising young people about tenancy and rental issues.

For many young individuals, securing suitable rental properties can seem like an overwhelming challenge. Limited financial resources, absence of rental history, and intense competition in the housing market create some of the many significant hurdles on the journey to finding a place to call home.

During our meeting, we'll explore the various obstacles that young people face in the rental landscape. Hunter Tenants Advice and Advocacy Service aims to arm you with the knowledge and tools necessary to effectively support and advise our young people. By delving into rental laws, discussing strategies for finding accommodation, and offering guidance on navigating potential pitfalls, we hope to empower all sector members to become invaluable allies for young renters in need.

Please see a full outline of the workshop below:
