Psychedelics & Addiction Recovery

Documentary Screening + Q&A

Saturday, September 26 | 6:00 PM – 9:30 PM (Pacific Time)

Can psychedelics help people overcome addiction?

To many, the idea sounds counterintuitive. Yet a growing body of research—and thousands of personal stories—is challenging long-held assumptions about addiction, trauma, and healing.

Join us for a screening in Los Angeles of the acclaimed documentary Psychedelics & Addiction Recovery, followed by a live Q&A with members of the film team and featured guests.

This thought-provoking documentary explores how psychedelic medicines, when used responsibly in therapeutic and spiritual settings, have helped individuals struggling with addictions to alcohol, methamphetamine, prescription psychiatric medications, and other substances find lasting recovery.

The film features deeply personal stories alongside interviews with respected physicians, therapists, researchers, veterans, and recovery advocates, including:

• A Stanford cardiologist whose daughter's severe addiction took an unexpected turn after psychedelic experiences

• A combat veteran and former MMA champion who found relief from PTSD and addiction through psychedelic-assisted healing

• Robert Falconer, internationally respected Internal Family Systems (IFS) author and teacher, discussing how psychedelics can help people compassionately heal wounded inner parts carrying childhood trauma

The documentary also explores one of the most surprising—and often overlooked—chapters in recovery history: the little-known psychedelic origins that helped inspire the modern 12-Step movement.

Rather than presenting psychedelics as a miracle cure, the film offers a balanced exploration of both their promise and their limitations while examining why these medicines are becoming one of the most exciting frontiers in mental health and addiction treatment.
