Event description
Landcarers can be found in all forms and in all communities. This state-wide Landcare Victoria Inc. Forum will highlight the “People, Produce and Partnerships” that make for vibrant communities. The Trafalgar based event promises to be a full weekend of inspiring presentations and farm/site visits that showcase the diversity and passion of local producers, consumers and communities across the West Gippsland area. All landcare members, volunteer, professionals and partners welcome!

Linked Events Wed 23rd October & Friday 25th October
Wed 23rd October 10am - 2.30pm - Field Day - "Pathogens, parasites and pesky pests. New and emerging biosecurity threats in a changing climate."
This field day will highlight biosecurity threats Southern Gippsland Farmers need to be aware of due to a changing climate. Morning Tea & Lunch Included
Friday 25th October 1030am - 2.30pm - Farm Walk - "Agroforestry in Southern Gippsland - A Real Adaptation Strategy in a Changing Climate." Come along and learn about agroforestry. In this farm walk, led by landowner Mark Walters, we will discuss topics such as; Social licencing Government support Management and harvesting Code of Forest practice. BBQ Lunch provided.

Morning – Presentations from local landcare groups, Australian Landcare International, Growing Southern Gippsland and LVI's Landcare Voices
Afternoon - Field Trips
- Niels Olsen, inventor of the Soilkee Renovator. The Olsen family are the first farmers in the world to be paid for soil carbon through a govt regulated system.
- Clinton Tepper – Multi Story farming. Clinton is a forester and a farmer. 2½ years ago Clinton set up a demonstration plot and planted 3 species of trees for high value agroforestry. However, the plot was designed to allow the continued use of the planted area for crops and livestock for multiple benefits.
Evening - Forum Dinner followed by Guest Speaker Steve Ronalds (Gippsland Jersey)

8.30am Wrap up over breakfast including outcomes and queries from LVI Members Council Meeting
9am Local group presentations
