An interactive, on-farm workshop at Chatsworth House exploring strategies for rehydrating farm landscapes, presented by agroecologist David Hardwick. David has over 20 years of experience in rural landscapes, farming and food systems and he's passionate about agroecology and empowering farmers with knowledge and skills that make a difference!
By the end of this essential one-day introductory workshop, participants will learn the basics of the water cycle in rural landscapes and the science behind landscape rehydration. It will deepen participant's understanding of how their farm’s water cycle works and introduce them to the strategies for improving it.
You will learn:
- Farm Hydrology: the water cycle on your property
- Surface and Groundwater Systems
- How properties, catchments, regions and the planet are all connected by water & energy
- Healthy and unhealthy water cycles
- The basics of Landscape Rehydration
- The range of strategies for rehydrating your farm's landscape
