Event description

A local workshop to be held at the Konongwootong Hall exploring strategies for rehydrating farm landscapes, presented by agroecologist David Hardwick. With over 20 years of experience in rural landscapes, farming and food systems, David is passionate about agroecology and empowering farmers with knowledge and skills that make a difference!

By the end of this one-day introductory workshop, participants will learn the basics of the water cycle in rural landscapes and the science behind landscape rehydration. It will deepen participants' understanding of how their farms' water cycles work and introduce them to strategies for improving it. 

You will learn:

  • Farm hydrology: the water cycle on your property
  • Surface and groundwater systems
  • How properties, catchments, regions and the planet are all connected by water & energy
  • Healthy and unhealthy water cycles
  • The basics of landscape rehydration
  • The range of strategies for rehydrating your farm's landscape

This is a catered event with morning tea and lunch included.
