The Rocks Laneway Cinema

Amongst golden sandstone buildings and cobbled lanes on Playfair Street, you’ll find a giant screen surrounded by cosy bean bags and comfy deck chairs where you can watch your favourite movie under the stars each Wednesday night. Gates open at 5:30pm and the movie starts at 7.00pm.

Entry to The Rocks Laneway Cinema is free, but for the best seats in the house - be sure to register for your free ticket. If you miss out booking online there are a limited amount of walk-ups ticket available on the night!

January is Comedy month and we will be proudly supporting Support Act, the heart and hand of the Australian music Industry. All month we will screen your favourite comedy classics and spreading some joy and connection.

Pay what you feel! Profit from each bag of popcorn sold will go to supporting Support Act and provide fundraising for crisis relief, mental health and wellbeing support to our friends in the industry.

Synopsis: Shallow, rich and socially successful Cher is at the top of her Beverly Hills high school's pecking scale. Seeing herself as a matchmaker, Cher first coaxes two teachers into dating each other. Emboldened by her success, she decides to give hopelessly klutzy new student Tai a makeover. When Tai becomes more popular than she is, Cher realizes that her disapproving ex-stepbrother was right about how misguided she was, and falls for him.
