Ireland and Australia are about to make history. Representative football will feature on the AFLW stage in 2026, with NAB AFLW Australia v Ireland to be held on Saturday, August 1 at North Sydney Oval.

The historic clash will bring together some of the competition’s biggest stars and emerging talent to celebrate the continued growth of women’s football and the strong connection between AFLW and Ireland. It will serve as a celebration of culture, talent and the evolution of women’s football as AFLW approaches its 11th season.
The Lansdowne Club is taking you inside the story before it happens.

Join us for an exclusive AFLW Pat Chat at Sydney Swans HQ on Wednesday 29 July, 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Mingle with AFLW team members as they prepare for the inaugural clash, then take your seat for a live panel with AFLW talent and leaders. Presented in collaboration with the Irish Consulate and the AFL.

This is a first for Irish-Australian sporting history, and it won't happen twice. Spaces are strictly limited to 200.
