Event description

Australian Geographic Awards Roadshow with Paul Pritchard.

Q & A Screening of Larapinta: end to end.

With Paul Pritchard and guests.

Hosted by Chrissie Goldrick, chair of the Australian Geographic Society

Meet the remarkable Paul Pritchard.

Despite catastrophic injuries sustained during an ascent of the Totem Pole in Tasmania in 1998, the Society’s 2018 Spirit of Adventure winner Paul Pritchard has continued to lead a life filled with adventure as climber, caver, cyclist and kayaker. Despite suffering from hemiplegia, he leads expeditions that enable fellow adventurers with disabilities opportunities to achieve record-breaking feats of endurance. In 2022 he walked the length of the Larapinta Trail in the NT along with three fellow adventurers all of whom were facing medical and mobility challenges. That expedition has been turned into a heartwarming film of overcoming the odds, courage and plenty of the kind of humour that Paul’s renowned for. Don't miss the opportunity to see this inspiring documentary and hear from this gifted speaker and exemplary human being in person.
