Technical Large Animal Rescue – Emergency Services & Rangers

Join us for a one-day practical Technical Large Animal Rescue (TLAR) workshop, presented by David King ESM, specifically for emergency services, rangers and personnel who may be called upon to assist at large animal incidents.

The workshop combines essential theory with hands-on practical training in the safe management, movement and lifting of trapped, recumbent or compromised large animals.

Topics include dynamic risk assessment, incident and scene management, PPE, animal behaviour, working with veterinarians, safe working zones, restraint, skidding, rollovers, rescue glide techniques and lifting.

TLAR techniques are aligned with the AFAC Large Animal Rescue Operations Guidelines, with an emphasis on responder safety, animal welfare and effective multi-agency teamwork.
