Join us for a one-day Large Animal Rescue Workshop specifically for equestrian sport, presented by leading large animal rescue specialist David King ESM.

This practical workshop is designed for Technical Delegates (TDs), event managers, officials, organising committees, equestrian organisations, equine professionals, veterinarians and horse owners across all equestrian disciplines.

The day will cover the key skills, equipment and safe practices needed when responding to a large animal emergency, including how a team can safely move and/or lift a recumbent, trapped or compromised horse.

Whether an incident occurs on the cross-country course, in an arena, stable, yards, float or elsewhere at an equestrian event, knowing what to do — and how to work safely as a team — can make a critical difference.

David is from the NSW State Emergency Service and Chair of the Animal Emergency Incident Management Network Australia & New Zealand (AEIMN ANZ). He has been involved in rescuing horses and cattle for more than 40 years and was central to the development of the Large Animal Operations Guidelines for AFAC.
