The Instituto Cultural de México, in collaboration with the University of Maryland, presents Las puntuantes, a performance-lecture by Mexican writer and artist Verónica Gerber-Bicecci, as part of the Cátedra Pacheco.

What can a punctuation mark do? What stories, pauses, silences, and possibilities can be found between one word and another?

In Las puntuantes, Verónica Gerber-Bicecci explores punctuation from a literary and artistic perspective, examining its forms, meanings, and possibilities. The performance combines spoken word, costume, objects, video, sound, and elements of audience participation to transform a reflection on language into a theatrical experience.

Lasting approximately 50 minutes, this performance-lecture invites audiences to look at punctuation in a new way and discover everything that can happen in the spaces between words.

About the Artist

Verónica Gerber-Bicecci is a Mexican writer and visual artist whose work explores the relationships between literature, language, and visual art. Her practice moves across different media and forms, creating works that challenge the boundaries between writing and visual expression.
