Laser Design and Cut, West Auckland's RE: MAKER SPACE, Wednesday 27 September 10am - 4pm

In this one day course, you will learn how to use free software to make designs that you can cut on any laser cutter with reclaimed materials to make optimised products. We will take things step-by-step.

This course is for participants aged 10+.  

Scope – by the end of the course the participants will be able to:

• Understand the basics of design using Inkscape or know about other apps
• Health and safety for using a laser cutter
• Understand the basics of how to cut cardboard, fabric, engraving wood on a laser cutter
• Understand what materials can be used and how to upcycle using a laser cutter
• Ideate the plan, design and create a fully custom piece.

Who is this workshop designed for?

This woodworking workshop is suitable for ākonga aged 10-16 years. Participants must be able to listen and follow instructions carefully.  Please let us know if you child has any behavioural issues the tutor would need to know about. If your child is not good at listening or able to follow instructions carefully then discuss with us first.
