Late diagnosed autism and ADHD peer support
Description
Who this is for
If you were diagnosed as an adult with autism and/or ADHD, and are looking to be apart of an inclusive and supportive community in Melbourne with other late diagnosed neurodivergent people, then you are welcome to join our monthly peer support group meeting. At these monthly peer support meetings we come together to share our own experiences of receiving our late diagnosis, and the unique challenges that come with being neurodivergent in a supportive group of like minded people.
Why
People who are late diagnosed tend to fall through the cracks due to their neurodivergence being invisible to other people, which can be a very alienating experience after a life time of little support, on top of being a highly misunderstood and stigmatised condition. It can be a struggle to find other people that are able to understand our own experience, and to find people who we can freely discuss the ins and outs of our neurodivergence with.
Where
The meeting will be held at a community centre in the sanctity of the Darebin Parklands in Alphington, approximately 500 metres north of the Alphington train station
Dates
Meetings are held from 7 pm to 9 pm. Next meeting available is on the 15th of June.
