Late Night Knife Fight

Late Night Knife Fight is back at Whammy Bar on K Road! Auckland's only improv show where every audience member is given a knife is returning for a 2026 season.

The Knife Fight is a joyful proving ground for improvisers creating new work and ensembles. It’s your chance to see 4 shows in one and catch the next big thing before it’s even off the ground. Each show features 3 dueling acts and one headliner (the winner of the previous show). You might see something hilarious, something that pulls at your heart strings, something incredibly well put together, or something that kind of sucks. You might see all of the above. Then you get to judge which act you liked the best!

Created in Pōneke in 2016, Late Night Knife Fight is now a feature of the comedy scenes in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, and Adelaide (South Australia). Over the past 10 years almost 300 new ideas have been tested in the Knife Fight with shows first performed at LNKF going on to feature in NZ International Comedy Festival, win awards, go on international tours, and delight audiences around Australasia.
