A Late Summer Sweat Lodge in Honor of the Direction of the South.

Our Sacred Stone Teachers are calling us this year before summer's end, to invite them into our lives.  

We will hold a Lodge for the Direction of the South on Sunday September 8th. Grandmothers Day, a perfect time.  

The South is the Direction of the Noon Day Sun and heat of the Summer.  This will be a transition time but we are still in the summer and with our weather warming, it may still feel warm.  We will honor the summer as we leave it and prepare for the times to come.  

The South is the time for the heat of relationship in courtship and sexuality and in territorial conflict and war.  Where there is expansion there is increased interaction which increases the passions of the south for good or for ill.  Lets explore where we are in our lives and where we are still in reaction and in extremes within our own lives.  

In the lodge we seek to find balance and acknowledging all sides and all perspectives.  We seek the wisdom of the whole that is constantly seeking equilibrium, inclusion, hospitality and communion.  This is the sacred hosting of the earth.  We need to learn the art of being a good guest at her table.  Blessings, To all who are drawn to this experience and the beauty of the Medicine Wheel Teachings.  

COME SATURDAY TO HELP PREPARE AND STAY OVERNIGHT> 

We will begin preparations on Saturday prior if anyone is interested in helping with this part.   We will hope to go into the lodge about noon on Sunday.  That means we will need to build the fire and cover the lodge if possible on Saturday.  People are welcome to come camp out or slumber party on the floor. The bnb spaces are available to share as well.  Contact me for more information on staying over.  earthwalkways@gmail.com and 540 752 5540.   We will have an evening fire circle and sharing Saturday evening.  

People can also chose to come on Sunday beginning with the lighting of the sacred fire at 9:ooam.  It is encouraged if you are a first timer to attend as much as possible.   If you cannot make the whole day,  It is possible to come a couple hours before we go into the lodge around noon.  

What To Wear  

In the summer time a cotton top and underwear is sufficient, and women also find it liberating and not demeaning to wear a skirt.  It needs to be ok if it gets dirty or torn.  

Loose comfortable clothing for in the lodge and cloths to be in the wood for before and after.  

As we get closer to time I will share with those registered some interesting teachings about the medicine wheel I am offering on my audio blog.  

Parking is along side of the drive pulling off to the side in various places and up at the lodge.  When you pull into the drive way we are the second house so go past the house on the road, down the hill and either park as you come down the hill, at the fork, going straight to the campground and bearing right to the lodge.  

Bring something to share for the Pot luck after the lodge.  I supply some bean soup and we need salads, fruits, dips and chips, etc.  I will also have a few things for the morning to tide us through lunch.  We will share a pot luck together after the lodge.  

Tickets are set up to indicate to me if you are coming to help support the lodge and get it ready with plans to stay overnight or not.  All tickets include the Sunday lodge from 9:00 to 5ish including pot luck and socializing. .
