Latihan Austin

Latihan is a blindfolded movement practice in which you are invited to:

✨ Embrace the mystery that is life

✨ Release attachment, aversion, + agenda

✨ Let go of DOING in exchange for BEING

✨ S l o w d o w n + practice presence

✨ Explore touch + learn to attune to others without the use of sight

✨ Find, recognize + communicate your boundaries

✨ Express your emotions

✨ Feel playful, sensual, embodied + free

✨ Use ALL experiences (including triggers + uncomfortable moments) as material for expansion + self empowerment 

 

While contact is not the point of Latihan, this experience can and does involve touch while blindfolded. Part of the exploration of Latihan is finding your YES and your NO, and taking full responsibility for communicating your boundaries at all times. Please know that this is an advanced level practice.

Flow:

7:15 to 7:30 ~ Doors open. Arrive and mingle. Ground in with movement to help get you out of your head and in to your body

7:45 ~ Doors lock. Introduction and explanation of Latihan 

8:00 ~ Begin Latihan

9:15 ~ Sharing circle and closing

9:30 ~ We close for the evening ✨

 

What to bring: 

• Clothes you can move in (like what you would wear to a yoga or dance class)
• Knee pads (not a necessity but can be nice)
• A hair tie or scrunchie if you have long hair
• A water bottle
• Blindfolds will be provided but you’re welcome to bring your own if you prefer

They are 100% silk, fully adjustable, and so comfy to wear. Perfect for bringing with you to Latihan Austin events, using for your own solo Latihan practice at home, or even drifting off in to dreamland. 

If you’d like to purchase a blindfold we have a ticket option that includes one, and we’ll also have them available for sale on the day of.
