Laughter Yoga on Saturday 6 November 2021 at 4pm with Wendy Wilson from Live Life Laugh.
Laughter Yoga is fun and involves unconditional laughter exercises created from the unique concept that anyone can laugh for no reason, without relying on humor, jokes or comedy.
Laughter Yoga is based on the scientific fact that the body cannot differentiate between fake and real laughter if done with willingness. Laughter is initiated with childlike playfulness using the imagination that soon turns into real and contagious laughter.
In a Laughter Yoga class we also need to breathe to create relaxation and literally 'catch your breath' in-between laughter exercises. The class will also involve clapping and chanting to create an uplifting energy plus a Laughter meditation and then we finish with a relaxation meditation. All elements will be explained to you as we go!
Laughter Yoga is a wonderful source of relaxation for you and your soul. A class consists of unconditional laughing with childlike activities, some chanting and clapping, a laughter meditation and a relaxation meditation. The practice creates pure joy and leaves you with a strong sense of peace.
Laughter Yoga is strictly an alcohol and drug free event.
Wear something comfortable and bring your water bottle. See you there.
Wendy is a Certified Laughter Leader from the teachings of the Dr Kataria School of Laughter Yoga and is versed in the concept of unconditional laughter based on Hasya Yoga (Yogic Laughter) and knowledge of the "Inner Spirit of Laughter".
Dr Madan Kataria, MD was inspired to develop Laughter Yoga after researching the positive benefits of Laughter on our physical and mental well being. Benefits include but are not limited to reducing stress and blood pressure; calming anxiety; boosting the immune system; aerobic activity that leads to better sleep; and of course producing endorphins, our body’s natural hormone that creates a feel-good state of mind.
