LAUNCESTON: Lifelong Respect - Walk Against Elder Abuse

Location: Meeting at Civic Square, Launceston
We invite community to join us for a walk to raise awareness against elder abuse as part of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (15 June). By participating, you'll help spread awareness about this critical issue and show your support for elder abuse prevention.
Cost: Free
The walk is organised by COTA Tasmania, supported by the Tasmanian Government and local councils, in alignment with Tasmania’s Lifelong Respect strategy (2023-2029).
Route: Gather at Civic Square → Walk down St John Street to Brisbane St Mall → Through the Mall, turn right at Charles St → Return through Civic Square and finish at Town Hall
Schedule:
- Walk starts: 12:30 pm
- Finish: 12:45 pm
- Speeches & Afternoon Tea: 12:45 pm - 1:30 pm
Following the walk, participants will gather at the Town Hall Reception Room for a light morning tea and short speeches.
