    Event description

Saturday 1st April is a big night for the Launceston Ukulele Jamboree, 2023! Our venue for the third annual event is the magnificent historic Pilgrim Church in Paterson Street, and you’re in for an absolute treat. The acoustics and visuals in this building are just fabulous, and with plenty of parking nearby, restaurants and bars within easy walking distance it’s the perfect venue to cater to our Jamboree needs.

First up will be Tassie folk festival favourites, Ruby & The Roundabouts from way down the Southern end of our state. Expect unusual instruments, harmonies, and wierd & wonderful song choices! You can also catch Tomahawkin’ Fred at the Saturday daytime workshops.

Duplicity Live will be joining us from Victoria - Sue Kidd and Brendan Canty will entertain us with songs spanning from blues to rock and pop! You can also catch these two at the Saturday daytime workshops.

Our headline performers this year are the magnificently flamboyant The Thin White Ukes (Michael Dwyer, Betty France and Robert Stephens) from Victoria who will be performing their David Bowie show for us. We’re so excited to have them here on their first tour of Tassie! You can also catch The Thin White Ukes at the Saturday daytime workshops.
