Climate change is the biggest global health threat this century, and in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand, recent catastrophic bushfires, floods, and extreme weather have highlighted the vulnerability – particularly of our children and future generations – to the changing climate.

Join us for the free hybrid launch event of the 2026 MJA-Lancet Countdown Report on Health and Climate Change in Sydney on Thursday 29th October, as our esteemed panellists explore the report findings and their implications for our region. For those joining us in person, this will be followed by networking over drinks and canapés.

We are thrilled to have Dr Kate Wylie, Executive Director of Doctors for the Environment Australia, with us to moderate the event. Presenters and panellists include an exciting mix of key voices in the climate, health, and policy space, including Professor Madeleine Skellern (Director of the Australian Government’s National Health, Sustainability and Climate Unit), Dr Sandro Demaio (Director and Head, WHO Asia-Pacific Centre for Environment and Health), and Professor Marina Romanello (Executive Director, Lancet Countdown).

We would be delighted if you could join us.

Please note that doors will open for registration at 4:30 pm, for a 5:00 pm start.

Please note: Photography and/or video recording may take place during this event for reporting and communications purposes. By registering, you acknowledge that you may appear in photographs or recordings.
