Event description

“It’s been the hardest, most isolating and damaging experience I have ever been through. There’s little to no support and feels like I’ve been fighting a losing battle since the day I made the initial report to my employers.” (Survey Respondent)

Join us for the launch of a new research report by JobWatch, RMIT and University of Wollongong – Overwhelmed and Frustrated: Experiences of Workplace Sexual Harassment and Discrimination; the barriers faced with the legal system.

There is a notable gap in justice system data about the non-legal and legal actions that are taken by workers after experiencing workplace sexual harassment and discrimination. This new research report lifts the veil from these experiences, and shares the voices of those impacted, using survey data and responses from callers to the JobWatch Telephone Information Service.

Join JobWatch, RMIT and University of Wollongong for the launch of our new report and an overview of the key research findings:

  • Date: 8 November 2023
  • Time: 12.30pm – 2.30pm
  • Location: Law Institute of Victoria, Level 13, 140 William St, Melbourne CBD

Virtual attendance: 1pm - 2pm, Zoom link to be provided before the event

The launch event will include an address by Victorian Parliamentary Secretary for Justice Nina Taylor MP, a review of the research findings by Zana Bytheway, Executive Director of JobWatch, and further commentary on key issues by Professor Georgina Heydon from RMIT University and Dr Rachel Loney-Howes from the University of Wollongong.
