Join the celebrations at City Skate on West Terrace for a fantastic afternoon dedicated to young South Australians aged 12 to 25.
From 9-17 April, SA Youth Week 2025 (SAYW) will be packed with nine days of events and activities across the State, offering something for everyone – from arts and culture to sports and community-building initiatives.
This is your chance to start SAYW right - make memories, meet new people, and celebrate youth culture.
What to expect:
- Welcome to Country and official proceedings start at 4:00 pm
- Live performances by local talent, including:
- Indie rock vibes from Destinezia, the TripleJ Unearthed group bringing fresh sounds and good vibes
- Soulful groove from Rob Edwards, the multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter and Womadelaide 2024 First Nations alumni.
- Subsidised food and coffee
- Interactive workshops to unleash your creativity, including skate deck decorating, pot painting, bracelet and badge making.
- Skateboard clinic hosted by Free Mind – whether you're a pro or a beginner, they’ll help you master your skills!
- Henna tattoos by Meenu Aiden – express yourself with a beautiful, intricate design to celebrate the day (please note these will be available for purchase directly from the artist)
- Chillout sensory area by Headspace – take a breather, relax, and recharge.

- Have your say on an upcoming art installation for the skate bowl wall with the team from City of Adelaide – this is your chance to leave a mark on the city!
But there’s more! We’re excited to be sharing some big news about South Australia’s Youth Action Plan - be there to hear it for yourself. Created by young people, for young people, this plan is all about giving young people more access to opportunities, support, and resources.
Please note, this is an alcohol-free event.
