Event description

Join Gerard Reinmuth (TERROIR) and Kimberley Angangan (TERROIR), alongside Anthony Burke (Grand Designs Australia) and Emma Wood (GANSW) for the launch of TERROIR: Territories at Bookshop by Uro, Sydney.

TERROIR Director Gerard Reinmuth will have an informal discussion about the making of Territories and it's implications for design and practice with TV presenter, design advocate and Professor of Architecture in the School of Architecture at UTS Anthony Burke and Emma Wood, Senior Design Advisor, Government Architect NSW.

Territories repositions architecture as a relational discipline, reversing the logic of building as architecture’s endpoint. Herein buildings are, rather, the after-effect of relations. And while physical or spatial relations are long-established constituent ingredients of architecture, Territories adds cultural, political, economic and social relations to this architectural repertoire. Seen through this lens, the architect’s scope and agency expands to a network of complex real-world relations, in which designing buildings is only one territory of action.

Drinks and light snacks will be served...
