Event description

Calling all witches (bog, folk, Wiccan, green, what-have-you), magic(k)ians, Druids, animists, heathens, fae workers, nature worshippers, and magical folk of all sorts!

Join us for our annual magickal festival in the heart of the Green Mountains of Vermont. This year's theme is: "Wyrd Wisdom for Weird Times. Come for one day or five!

Jam packed with rituals, classes, drumming, bardic circle, and more, let's come together to build and renew our harmony and connection to Nature, the Divine, the Old Ways, our inner true Selves, and to the communities that support us.

Classes/ workshops and experientials will include topics such as working with the fae, various divinatory systems, practical magic, Golden Dawn magick, shapeshifting and possession, animism and working with spirits of place, politics and magic, and more! This year's main ritual theme will be "Call of the Wild Gods". There will also be some discussion about how as a community of "alt religion" folks we can watch out for, support and protect ourselves and one another in this current political-religious climate.

MEAL PLAN
There is NO meal plan this year. We will be providing communal storage for coolers and food, numerous grills and burners, etc. down by the main dining tent. Ice runs will happen daily. Participants are expected to cook and dine together so that we can come together as a community. Also, various activities and announcements will happen at the dining tent during this time so you won't want to miss it. Registrants will be sent as part of their confirmation a number of ideas and resources (including recipes) for preparing, storing, and reheating easy meals for the event.

THE DETAILS:

Camping & Overnight Accommodations
Again this year, we are going to let people camp wherever they want – in the field, forest or in-between. The pottapotties, showers, potable water, meals and classes will all still be down near the meetinghouse so if you camp in the woods, plan to get your hiking in. There will be designated fire pits. Do not make new ones. This time of year is typically dry but rainstorms have been known to happen, so we strongly recommend you bring a tarp or ground cloth to put under your tent.Parking space is limited. We have room for a VERY limited number of campers or RV’s (no sewer, water or electric hook-ups) and they are quite far from where activities are. There will be no campers in the main parking area next to the house. We would really prefer that you NOT bring a camper or RV but if you insist then you MUST - WITHOUT EXCEPTION - GET PRIOR APPROVAL. If you don't get prior approval and you just show up with one you WILL BE TURNED AWAY with NO REFUND (because you could still camp). There are a limited number of B&B’s and inns in Bethel and nearby towns. Please contact Laurelin staff if you would like further information.

Toilets, Showers, and Water
Port-a-potties will be available on-site. There is a shower house with one hot water shower. There is an outdoor sink for washing dishes and drinking water. All of these are down near the main house.

Village Builders
This year we will be having a special day for those people who would like to come together as a smaller group to share, connect and participate in the creation of our magickal village. In ritual and with magickal intent, we will break into teams each dedicated to creating and maintaining one aspect of our magickal community – some hard physical labor, and others less so. Arrival is by Noon on Wednesday, July 30th. There is no cost for coming to Village Builders.

Workshops, Rituals, and Activities
If you have an idea for a workshop, ritual, discussion, performance, or children’s activity – we’d LOVE to hear about it! Don’t be shy – we’re open to any and all ideas. As a community, we freely share our skills to help make Lughnasadh an exciting, rich and fun-filled experience that will keep everyone coming back year after year (and bringing more friends too!). We hope that you will too. Send your proposals via email to: laurelinvt@gmail.com ASAP!. (Sooner is better!) You will be notified by July 1st whether or not it is accepted.

Vendor and Psychic Info:
Sorry but there will be no magical marketplace this year. Inquire for next year.

Pets/ Dogs
Dogs are welcome this year at the festival. However, you MUST provide proof of rabies vaccination or your dog will not be permitted. Further, all dogs must be kept on-leash at all times in the fields or around the house. They are free to run loose in the wooded areas. You are expected to pick up and dispose of any waste left in areas where people will be walking, camping, etc. Your pet must be calm, non-disruptive, and under your control (on leash or off) at all times. If it fights with other animals, is disruptive by barking or other behaviors, is threatening or causes damage to the site or its other occupants, or not under your control at all times you will be required to take the pet off-site with no refund.
