Coaching is well placed to support these new forms of thinking and to encourage adaptive approaches, however is still hampered by the person-centred assumptions limiting coaching’s potential for support.

Based on ground-breaking research on the Coaching Ripple Effect and the spread of positive wellbeing through leadership change at an organisational level, Dr Sean O'Connor will share perspectives on the importance of network thinking and systemic approaches to coaching alongside implication for both individual and organisational change and development more broadly.

This talk will:

Outline the Coaching Ripple Effect and how it can be leveraged to support coaching at the individual, group, team and organisational levels
Identify implication for integrating coaching into the broader scope of organisational development and change
Challenge you to think more systemically about approaches to coaching and change for more efficient and effective impact

Sean A. O'Connor, PhD: Sean is a renowned coaching practitioner and early career academic, teaching and conducting research at the Coaching Psychology Unit at the University of Sydney, Australia running the world’s first Master Level degree in Coaching Psychology. He is an Institute of Coaching, Harvard Harnisch Scholar and has won numerous international awards for his ground-breaking research into “The Coaching Ripple Effect”. Applying his knowledge on social network analysis and complex adaptive systems, Sean is conducting research on the spread of compassion through coaching and positive psychology in health care, perspective taking and network thinking in leadership for major projects, coaching approaches to cultural change in education and the combination of positive psychology and coaching to goal attainment.
