Event description

EXTENDING YOUR INFLUENCE
WANT TO LEARN THE STRATEGIES OF INFLUENCING?

Are you in a position where you need to enable change across the wider business but are limited in resources? Are you in danger of becoming the ‘Lone Ranger’? With a to-do list as long as your arm?

To be effective, you will need to bring OTHERS along for the journey. You will need to INFLUENCE.

Acquiring the requisite skills to coach and influence others in your organisation is critical to your success.

Having the tools and technical ability will only get you part of the way. It is the ability to influence stakeholder behaviours and attitudes at every level within your business that will define the difference between Good and Great.

This retreat will provide the opportunity to grow your capabilities and enable a greater impact on your organisation. And at the same time, you will get to mix with your peers across industry and build some great and enduring relationships.

For this Influencing retreat, we have enlisted two outstanding experts to workshop us through two key aspects of leading without authority: Coaching and Influencing skills.

This two, half-day program will explore:

  • Understanding that your role goes beyond delivering tools and systems.
  • Recognising Conscious v's Unconscious leadership behaviours.
  • The great overlap that exists between your base function and coaching.
  • The psychology of influencing.
  • Powerful tools for increasing your influence as a functional leader.
  • Persuasive conversations.
  • Creating alliances with employees, stakeholders, and senior leaders.

The sessions will embed an ongoing drive to explore the skills of coaching and the psychology of influence, while networking with other leaders within IPA network.
It will be a golden opportunity to share your knowledge and expertise and participate in some engaging and enjoyable discussions.

Solutions begin with a conversation!

Event Facilitators

Day 1 | Tony Meredith

Tony Meredith from TMC Coaching TMC™. With a background in Business and Sales, Tony specialises in Influencing. Leadership, People Management, Strategy Development, Mindset, Goal Setting, Goal Achievement and Removing Limiting Beliefs.

Tony believes that all great sporting stars have a coach. Someone who shares in developing a game strategy, creating a plan of action, providing feedback and opportunities for improvement. Coaches bring the best out in these sports stars to ensure they fulfil their potential.

People in business are no different. Whether you’re wanting to take your business to the next level or improve individually, as a Business Coach, Tony helps businesses to develop strategies, and provide guidance to ensure them achieve their objectives.

Having worked with hundreds of businesses across Australia over the last 4 years, Tony has identified the main problems business people face:

🔹 Looking for more sales

🔹 Aspire to grow, but unsure how to do this effectively and efficiently

🔹 Struggling to get the most out of their employees

🔹 Putting in plenty of effort, but not getting ahead

🔹 Constantly running out of time

🔹 Working 'in' the business, not 'on' the business

As a result, Tony has developed coaching programs that provide solutions to these problems and many more.

Day 2 | Eleanor Shakiba

Eleanor Shakiba has taught over 50,000 people to think and behave in ways that build success.

She is a Trainer and Coach, with a passion for working with ‘positive deviants'. These are the people in a business, community or group who get better results than their peers. They think differently, find better solutions to problems and stand out as exceptional. Eleanor is passionate about developing these ‘outliers’ and the organisations which foster their brilliance. To this task, she brings expertise in positive psychology, social anthropology, experiential learning and Neuro-Linguistic Programming.

Early in her career, Eleanor was a playwright and theatre director. During this time, she developed the performance skills which underpin her signature training style – dynamic and bold, with a dash of quirky humour. In 1994, Eleanor entered the training and development field, occupying a range of facilitation and management roles at the University of Sydney. Today, she is the driving force behind Think Learn Succeed.

Eleanor’s core strength is creativity. This is reflected in her dynamic presentation style, colourful workbooks and custom-made videos. If you want an interactive, thought-provoking workshop, she’s the facilitator for you.
