Water- The Elixir of Life
In the face of our third La Niña event and on the back of a significant drought, managing our state’s water resource is no mean feat! The challenges are significant in the face of these climatic events. Add to this a growing population and associated increased demand on our most essential resource, how has Hunter Water navigated these events and what does the future hold for Hunter Water’s strategy and operations?
Emma’s current role as Executive Manager Strategy and Engagement is to ensure Hunter Water continues to provide sustainable and resilient water services across the lower Hunter region, now and in the future.
Emma leads a multi-disciplinary team responsible for developing Hunter Water's Corporate and Sustainability Strategies, as well as long term strategies across water and wastewater services such as the Lower Hunter Water Security Plan (our regions' long term water plan).
As trusted custodians of our local water services, a key aspect of Emma’s role is to ensure our community’s values and views are reflected in Hunter Water’s decision making.
Emma currently contributes to the following professional bodies:
- Advisory Board Member, Vitens Adaptive Pathways Research Program, Deltares (Netherlands)
- Liveable Communities Committee, Water Services Association of Australia.
