Image Description: People NOT Profit by Nelson Nghe, a Western Sydney artist and advocate for gambling reform

Gambling‑related harm is one of the most urgent and yet preventable challenges facing Western Sydney. It fuels financial distress, worsens mental health, undermines family stability and deepens inequality, disproportionately impacting communities already experiencing social and economic disadvantage. This Leadership Forum brings together community, government and sector leaders to challenge that status quo and to act.

Convened by Western Sydney Community Forum, and in partnership with the Centre for Western Sydney and Wesley Mission, the Forum will shine a light on the structural and commercial drivers of gambling harm, including accessibility, regulation, industry influence, and gaps in prevention and support. Centring lived experience alongside evidence and frontline insight, the Forum will amplify community voices and strengthen the case for bold, coordinated and place‑based responses across Western Sydney.

As part of the Western Sydney Leadership Forum series, this event provides a platform for collective advocacy, connecting leaders committed to social justice, equity and community wellbeing. The series exists to escalate shared priorities, influence policy and practice, and mobilise cross‑sector leadership on the complex issues shaping the lives of people in Greater Western Sydney.

Registration opens at 9.30am for a 10.00am start.
