As part of GGA’s 2025 Capacity Building Program, this bespoke 2-day leadership training was developed especially for managers and Board members leading small teams of staff/peers within the GGA network, not-for-profit group context.
Alongside peers operating in a similar context, the training aims to enhance the leadership capability and impact within the GGA network.

4th & 5th November 2025
Training runs over two days at the Aloft Hotel, Perth, with a networking dinner on the first day.
4 November – full day training (9.00am – 5.00pm) catering included, plus 2 course social dinner.
5 November – full day training (8.30am – 4.00pm) catering included
Places & Registration
Exclusive to the GGA network, 25 places are available.
This training is designed for staff or volunteer committee and board members currently in leadership roles who want to strengthen their knowledge and skills to improve their performance. Ideal participants include Executive Officers and Chairs, but it’s also relevant for those in Research Officer roles managing a small team or a committee member leading a board sub-committee.
Alongside fellow GGA members operating in a similar context, you will be immersed in a two-day shared learning experience facilitated by renowned extension facilitator Jeanette Long of Ag Consulting Co. from South Australia, who has been delivering leadership training tailored to the agricultural industry for over 20 years.

Content

Instructor – Jeanette Long
Renowned agricultural industry facilitator, trainer and coach Jeanette Long will deliver the workshop.
Bio
Jeanette Long has been facilitating leadership training for over 20 years. She is passionate about developing the skills of people in regional and rural areas. Jeanette’s passion is engaging people and influencing positive change in agriculture and natural resources management. She specialises in facilitation and facilitated learning both with farmers and for professionals who work with farmers. She has delivered extension and facilitation training with The Red Meat Profit Partnership in NZ, for QDAF, Dairy Australia, Sugar Research Australia and the National Grower Group Collective. Jeanette is currently the Master Facilitator with the NB2 Program funded by MLA. Jeanette’s formal education includes a Master’s in Business Administration, a Graduate Diploma in Education, and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Agriculture. She has also completed a Diploma from the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She is a trained facilitator and coach and holds a Certificate in Workplace Training and Assessment. Jeanette is also an accredited “Building Team Resilience” trainer and is accredited to deliver the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator.
Leadership Expertise Capability
Jeanette’s leadership expertise is aligned with practices and principles of the Forton Group, part of the Inspirational Development Group (IDG), a global human performance consultancy specialising in leadership and team development.
Within this methodology, the definition of a leader is “being personally successful and enabling success in others” and a belief that leadership is about the individual, the team they lead, the broader organisation, and leadership in society.
