Description

Tuesday 27 October, Melbourne CBD. $650 a seat, $1,300 for three. 6.5 CPD hours. Seats capped at 20.

Need an invoice or purchase order instead of paying by card? Email alexdrane@tridentpsychology.com.au and I’ll hold your seat and invoice you the same day. If plans change, send a colleague in your place at no cost.

Who it’s for

HR and OD practitioners, change and transformation leads, WHS and safety managers, and anyone running a restructure or major system change in the next 12 months. You don’t need a psychology background. You do need to be the person who gets asked “have we thought about the people side of this?”

What you’ll be able to do on Friday

  • Draft the psychosocial risk assessment for a specific change, using the Trident Psychosocial Change Model.

  • Tell the difference between a change that needs a full assessment and one that needs a conversation, using the model’s four work states (done, prescribed, changed, in transition).

  • Build controls that sit in the plan and the schedule, rather than in a wellbeing calendar.

  • Show the evidence trail the WorkSafe Victoria’s psychological health regulations expect: how you identified the hazard, who you consulted, and what you did about it.

How the day runs

8:30am Registration, coffee
9:00am Session 1: What the regulator means by poor change management. The Code of Practice, the common myths, and what an inspector asks for first.
10:45am Session 2: The Trident Psychosocial Change Model. We assess a real restructure together, step by step, and build the controls.
12:30pm Lunch
1:15pm Session 3: Your table takes a second case end to end and defends its controls to the room.
3:45pm Accreditation knowledge check and wrap. 4:30pm close.

Two case studies, both drawn from real Australian change programs. Expect to spend most of the day working, not watching slides.

What you take away

  • The Trident Psychosocial Change Model and the full practitioner toolkit (assessment template, control library, consultation guide, monitoring indicators).

  • Accreditation as a Trident Accredited Psychosocial Change Practitioner, with a verifiable digital badge, issued after a ten-minute online knowledge check. Included in the price.

  • About 6.5 hours of CPD for HR, WHS, and psychology schemes.

  • Full-day catering and materials.

Who’s running it

I’m Alex Drane, an endorsed organisational psychologist. Before Trident Psychology I led psychosocial risk work inside South32 and BHP, and I was Principal Investigator on a workforce mental health research program for AREEA. I’ve spent most of the last decade watching restructures get risk-assessed for everything except the people in them, and this program is the fix I wished those teams had.

Why now

Poor organisational change management is a listed psychosocial hazard in the WorkSafe Victoria’s psychological health regulations, in force since 1 December 2025. Psychological injury claims cost a median $67,400, about four times a physical claim (Safe Work Australia).

Need sign-off? Forward this to your manager

“I’d like to attend Leading Change Without Causing Harm on Thursday 22 October ($650, 6.5 CPD hours). It’s a one-day practical program on assessing and controlling the psychosocial risk of restructures and major change, run by an endorsed organisational psychologist. I’ll come back with a completed assessment template we can use on [our next change], and accreditation we can cite in our WHS reporting.”
