Want to set up your primary school for ongoing success in maths? This special two-day intensive conference is for you!
Following the success of Anita’s special two-day Leading Primary Maths PL event in 2023, it’s back by popular demand. After 30 years in mathematics education, Anita will again open the doors on her 'trade secrets', sharing the approach she has used to transform the teaching of maths in her Learning Journey schools across NSW.
This year, Anita has adapted the two-day program to meet the evolving needs of NSW primary schools who are implementing the new Y3–6 Mathematics syllabus, whilst refining their knowledge of the new K–2 Mathematics Syllabus:
DAY 1: Leading a whole-school approach to maths | Content knowledge
DAY 2: Lesson structure | Task Design | Scope and sequence writing K–6
Empower a team to lead maths
Anita believes a whole-school approach to maths is best led by a ‘Maths Crew’. A Maths Crew is made up of classroom
teachers led by a school leader, and supported by the school executive. Send your team of current and aspiring leaders to learn together with Anita. Your team will be empowered and equipped with the practical tools, strategies and knowledge needed to lead a consistent approach for school-wide improvement at your primary school.
Who should attend?
Primary schools can send a team of up to 8 educators - a mix of classroom teachers and school leaders representing each stage/grade K–6:
- Principal or Deputy Principal
- AP Curriculum & Instruction
- Assistant Principals
- Aspiring and current maths leaders.
