Wed, 7 May, 11:15am - 2 Jul, 3pm AEST

Event description

During term 1 of this year participants in the Yarn Bombing class made a spectacular start on the yarning the granny squares and creating the blankets for Pride month. These blankets will be on display in June in celebration of Pride Month. We will continue this project during the 2nd term and we welcome anyone who participated in first term, and new folk, to join us. Whether you are experienced in crochet or not, a member of the LGBTIQA+ community or an ally, you are most welcome. Once the blankets are proudly displayed on the trees the class will move onto other lovely projects for the final weeks of the term. This is a 10-week program, but attendance is relaxed, so you are welcome to come along when it suits.

Course Details:

  • Dates: Wednesdays from 7th May to the 2nd of July
  • Time: 1pm - 3pm
  • Where: 7 Lydiard Street South, Ballarat Central, 3350.
  • Cost: Free

During this course, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn to Crochet: Group members experienced at crocheting offer one on one support to those who are learning.
  • Create Yarn Bombing Materials: Work together with fellow participants to craft beautiful woollen squares that will be used to blanket the trees in Ballarat, adding a vibrant touch to our community celebration.
  • Knit if You Prefer: If you wish to contribute but are an experienced knitter, you are welcome to join!

This is a fantastic opportunity to get creative, learn new skills, and be part of a heartwarming project that brings our community together in celebration of Pride Month. Thank you to the City of Ballarat for their generous support.
