Week 1 – Introduction to Anime Drawing & Facial Proportions

Focus: Understanding the basics.

• Learn proportions and head shapes unique to anime.

• Explore different eye, nose, and mouth styles.

• Practice sketching expressions with simple guidelines.

• Create a reference sheet of basic anime features.

Week 2 – Expressions & Emotions

Focus: Bringing characters to life.

• Study how to draw exaggerated emotions (happy, sad, angry, surprised).

• Work with eyebrow angles, mouth shapes, and eye detailing.

• Practice creating a range of expressive faces.

• Finish with a mini “emotion chart” of your own character.

Week 3 – Hairstyles & Character Design

Focus: Style & individuality.

• Learn techniques for drawing layered anime hair (short, long, spiky, etc.).

• Practice shading for depth and texture.

• Begin developing your own unique anime character.

• Add clothing details with simple folds and lines.

Week 4 – Final Character Drawing

Focus: Putting it all together.

• Combine proportions, features, emotions, and hair into a complete character.

• Learn outlining and inking basics for a polished look.

• Add shading or light color accents (optional).

• Finish with a full anime-style portrait to take home.
