Learn the Skills. Share the Knowledge. Strengthen Our Community.

Building a resilient and self-reliant Bitterroot Valley begins by reconnecting with the skills that help us care for ourselves, one another, and our local food system.

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll watch the process, learn alongside others, and gain practical experience in:

Humane livestock harvesting and basic pig anatomy
Skinning and quartering a pot-bellied pig for roasting
Understanding how the hide is prepared for a traditional whole-pig roast
Preparing, storing, and cooking the meat
Strengthening local food security through shared skills and community knowledge

Each participant will take home approximately 30 pounds of quartered pot-bellied pork to prepare and enjoy.

In Farmer Henry’s words: “Kill it and grill it!”
