Learn To Play Sessions in Taupuni Hopuoro AV Studio at Te Kete Tuhinga Ashburton Library!

Curious about playing an instrument but not sure where to start? Our Learn to Play Sessions are a fun, easygoing way to jump in and give it a go. No pressure, no expectations, just music.

Book a 30‑minute one‑on‑one session with one of our friendly specialists and dive into playing. Choose between acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass, ukulele, or keyboard, and work through the basics at your own pace. These sessions are ideal for beginners and first‑timers, with plenty of space to experiment, make noise, and enjoy the process.

Designed as a simple and supportive introduction to playing, these sessions focus on learning how the instrument feels, sounds, and works. No experience needed, just turn up, pick an instrument, and start playing.

Studio Details

Our studio is free to use with a valid library membership. Only one booking per person is allowed at a time, with additional sessions available for booking during or after your current booking.

Learn to Play sessions are intended for complete beginners and are limited to 4 sessions per person.

Cancellations or reschedules must be made at least 24 hours in advance; repeated late cancellations or no‑shows may lead to suspended booking privileges.
