Adults and Children Learn to Ride - Bike Education Program in Harpley

Would you or your child like to learn to how to ride a bike? Perhaps you are looking to regain confidence. It’s never too late to get on a bike and learn how to ride.

Harpley and Wyndham City Council have partnered with Bicycle Network to offer Harpley residents an opportunity to learn how to ride a bike over 3 weeks in October.

What is it?
  • Expert coaches from Bicycle Network will deliver seperate beginner learn to ride sessions for children (5 to 12 years) and adults (18 years and older).
  • These 3 week programs will suit children and/or adults that have never ridden a bike before, or may have ridden a long time ago and wanting to build confidence again.
When is it?
  • The programs will be delivered over 3 weeks on Saturdays 12, 19 and 26 October.
    • Children: 10 to 11am
    • Adults: 11:30am to 12:30pm
  • *Participants must be available to attend all 3 sessions.
Where will sessions be held?
  • The programs will be delivered at Lollypop Creek Primary School - 114 Shipwright Parade, Werribee 3030
  • Sessions will be held on the basketball courts within school grounds, where you will be the only users. This maximises safety and a beginner friendly enviornment. 

Do participants need to own a bike?

  • No, all bikes and helmets will be provided.
  • If participants do have their own bikes and/or helmets, they are welcome to bring these along.
  • Participants should bring a water bottle and wear comfortable clothing, including close-toed shoes.

Registration Information:

  • Please only register if you/your child can attend all 3 sessions.
  • Please check in with the coaches on arrival.
  • Please follow any processes in place as directed by the coaches which are part of the risk assessment.

    Data collection and enquiries:

    Registration information will be kept on a secure database and will be used in a statistical format for monitoring and evaluation purposes only. You may be contacted for feedback to help with course improvement/project evaluation. Medical information, name, age, gender and emergency contact details will be passed onto the coaches where required.
