Learn to Sew a Box Top Workshop
Event description
In this workshop, participants will learn to measure, draft and sew a simple box top! The instructor will also talk about different ways to finish the neckline, different types of seams, how to embellish the top further and more!
This workshop is great for beginner sewers who want to make clothing but are a tad intimidated by the process. A basic knowledge of running a sewing machine is required. Our goal is for participants to leave with their projects as close to finished as possible, with all the skills needed to finish at home. Fabric and thread will be provided, but you’re welcome to bring your own!
This is a BYOM (Bring Your Own Machine) workshop and sewing machines will not be provided. Participants will need to bring all necessary machine accessories to participate- pedal, power cord, bobbin, machine needle and sewing machine manual (if available).
This workshop is appropriate for ages 18+ only.

About the instructor
I am Preeti Agrawal, a craft blogger and watercolorist. In my work, I am concerned with experiments that combine old and new. I am drawn to the modern craft sensibility but at the same time the traditional arts call to me. I love the interplay of the two as I adjust traditional arts to new mediums and materials.
A concern for the environment and a reverence for nature pervades my daily life and my work: I save fabric, remnants, beads and the castaways of modern living and incorporate them in my work. Making things by hand gives me joy, up cycling, salvaging and repurposing materials gives me joy, as a result my crafting world is the perfect marriage of two!
