Event description

Put down your phone, step away from the text messages and embrace handwriting again. Not just any old handwriting, but Calligraphy! Turn your messages and love letters into real works of art.

Your teacher Océane knows a thing or two about calligraphy. As a French native, cursive handwriting is still an important part of French schooling, and the French language is handwritten in a very specific style of cursive called 'Rond' or round.

This class invites you to slow down and appreciate the joy and elegance of handwritten Calligraphy, a create a card or letter for a friend.

Come along to learn and practice how to create beautiful lettering and script to decorate cards, letters and craft. Or simply learn to write a friend's name.

All materials provided. No need to have your pen license!

What will we cover?

During this hands-on class you will:

  • Learn the origin of cursive writing and its use

  • Practice and develop your cursive writing style with guiding templates

  • Learn to write using different calligraphy pens

  • Write your own celebration card or short letter to offer to you loved ones.

Who will be teaching?

Océane (She/Her) is a French native and a language educator who founded Enjoy French (with Océane) - a unique language school. Passionate about sharing her culture, Océane is currently developing fun and convivial workshops using interactive and creative activities (such as making crepes) to introduce the French language and culture to non-native speakers.
