Learning The Art of Screenwriting with Abdullah
Description
Ever wondered how everything you see in a movie is condensed down onto a sheet of paper first? How do the actors know what to say, when to say it, and how exactly they should say it? You think to yourself, “how could I possibly write down an action scene for Tom Cruise to act out?”
In “Learning the Art of Screenwriting”, you will be equipped with all the skills required to write your very first screenplay! From the fundamentals to the little tips and tricks, this class will leave you well informed on the art of writing a good screenplay.
What will we cover?
The class will be broken down into three segments:
Learning to read a screenplay
A deep dive into the screenplay formats
Writing a two-minute scene on the same prompt
Participants will also be treated to a special activity of writing a screenplay by observing a scene from a film. They will observe a short sequence from a film and will be tasked to write or type it down and present it by reading it out loud. This will encourage confidence in the participants to share ideas and creative inspiration amongst each other.
