Event description

Join Dr Rod Lamberts, science communication practitioner and researcher, in discussion with Professor Michael Martin and Associate Professor Emily Corner as they share ideas to improve communication in lectures or tutorials. As Professor of Statistics at ANU, Michael has many years of experience finding different ways to explain concepts, making them concrete for students. As an ANU Distinguished Educator and Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy he is also a leader and innovator in teaching and learning at ANU. Meanwhile, Emily has the challenge of teaching some of the larger courses in CASS in traditional formats. She is also the convenor of the new Master of Applied Criminology being launched next year, while pursuing her research interests at the Centre for Social Policy Research.

Rod is looking forward to having a yarn with Emily, Michael and participants to spark ideas and encourage sharing of challenges, as we all work to improve the student learning experience.

Bring your lunch and join in the fun!
