LED Lantern Ahoy!
Event description
A Down at Dock 2 event for children over 5 years.
Join us at Dock 2, next to the 1864 clipper ship City of Adelaide, to construct your own lantern - based on the traditional brass clipper ship lanterns of old.
Cut, glue and punch the paper and cardboard lantern base and lid before attaching them to a plastic Bickford's bottle. Connect battery cables to an amber light-emitting-diode (LED), then insert this assembly into the Bickford's bottle to complete your lantern. Switch ON, and the LED will glimmer like a burning candle - try it out in our darkened display container.
We have morning and afternoon sessions: 11am - 12pm, and 1:00pm - 2:00pm.
Each ticket holder will receive a $5 discount voucher for an adult to tour the clipper (children tour free of charge). This voucher can be used on the day, or at any time in the future.
