Leeds Advanced Critical Care Echocardiography (LACE) is a 3-day face to face course teaching advanced trans thoracic and trans-oesophageal echo and advanced haemodynamic management.
It is formally endorsed by the Intensive Care Society & the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine and allows accreditation for the European Diploma of Echocardiograohy in Critical Care (EDEC), FUSIC HD & fTOE. Interested in BSE ACCE and EACVI. This is the course for you!

Learn from a range of experienced faculty from critical care, cardiology and cardiac anaesthesia.
The first two days is be based upon intermediate / advanced TTE focussing on extended trans-thoracic views, measurements involved with a full data set and intermediate/advanced valvular assessment. This will be performed on volunteers with a focus on hands on scanning.
The third day would be TOE focussed performed on 5 HeartWorks Mannequin Simulators.
This would focus on hands on practice obtaining a standard set of TOE views and measurements involved with a full TOE data set. Specific sessions would cover simulated pathology covering tamponade, valvulopathy and aortic syndromes.
Pre-learning will include instructional video on focussed TOE views, a presentation on a full TOE data set with associated measurements and a presentation on advantages of TTE and TOE.
